Pediatric Endocrinologist
Elvira Hernández
I am a pediatrician with specialized training in pediatric endocrinology. I provide care to children and adolescents with hormonal disorders with a friendly, clear, and respectful approach tailored to the needs of each family.
I trained at Son Espases University Hospital, where I discovered my calling for pediatric endocrinology. I furthered my training with a stay at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC, one of the internationally renowned centers in this specialty. This experience allowed me to strengthen my knowledge and understand the importance of individualized care. I am fluent in English and will be happy to assist you if you have only been on the island for a short time or are having difficulty with the language. I want all families to feel comfortable and well-informed.
During my consultations, I dedicate time to listening, explaining, and answering questions. I know that, as a mother or father, it's natural to feel uncertain when something in your child's development isn't going as expected. That's why I believe in a type of medicine where families not only receive a diagnosis but also support, clarity, and security to make informed decisions.
I treat problems related to growth, puberty (whether precocious or delayed), thyroid disorders, childhood obesity, and other hormonal disorders common during childhood and adolescence.
If you're worried that your child isn't growing as they should, has started puberty too early, has thyroid problems, or is struggling with their weight, I'm here to help. Together, we can address what's happening with a plan tailored to their situation.
I'll be waiting for you at the Jorge the Pediatrician Space!
